# How it works

> Understand the 3-step process behind Boosterberg's automated promotion

Boosterberg automates your paid social promotion through a simple three-step process — all using official Meta Ads Manager.

## The automation workflow

    Link your Facebook and Instagram pages to Boosterberg through the official Meta API. You'll need admin access to the pages and a connected Facebook Ad Account for billing.

    Define when posts should be promoted by setting conditions like:

    * Minimum engagement (likes, comments, shares)
    * Post age (promote within X hours of publishing)
    * Content type (photos, videos, links)
    * Budget limits per post

    Boosterberg monitors your posts in real-time. When a post meets your criteria, it automatically creates a paid ad campaign in Meta Ads Manager with your specified budget and targeting.

## What happens behind the scenes

When Boosterberg promotes a post, here's exactly what occurs:

1. **API call to Meta**: Boosterberg uses Meta's Marketing API to create a "Boosted Post" ad
2. **Campaign created in Ads Manager**: A real ad campaign appears in your Meta Ads Manager
3. **Budget charged to your ad account**: Meta bills your connected Facebook Ad Account directly
4. **Ad runs through Meta's network**: Your content is delivered as sponsored content through Meta's standard ad delivery system

This is the same process as manually clicking "Boost Post" on Facebook or Instagram — Boosterberg simply automates the decision-making and setup.

## Smart optimization

Boosterberg uses smart presets and learning algorithms to optimize your campaigns over time. The platform analyzes which types of content perform best and can adjust targeting to maximize your return on ad spend.
